1. Choose the right ingredients and adapt your recipes

When possible, buy local and seasonal and avoid overly-processed and over-packaged items. Buy “ugly” products, they’re just as good - and cheaper! Find out how to substitute cheaper, more nutritious foods into your favourite recipes

2. Avoid commercial traps

Learn about commercial traps such as shrinkflation and skimpflation that give you less bang for your buck. We can outsmart the companies that take us for granted! 

3. Discover the potential of plant proteins

Replace portions of meat in your recipes with legumes - they’re nutritious, tasty and budget-friendly. Keep lentils, beans, corn, and canned tomatoes on hand for quick meals. 

4. Avoid ultra-processed and over-packaged foods

Read food labels and choose foods with a shorter list of ingredients (that you recognize)! Buy foods in bulk; you don't pay for packaging and only take the quantity you need. 

5. Become an anti-waste pro

Purchase quantities according to your needs. Cook in large batches to save time and money; freeze leftovers or jar them. Preserve food simply and efficiently!
